Kingsdowne Surgery Merger with Central Surgery - 1st July 2017

It is with sadness that we must inform you of Dr Syed’s medical retirement from his role as principal GP with Kingsdowne Surgery.

From 1st July Kingsdowne Surgery merges with Central Surgery at Surbiton Health Centre. If you are a current Kingsdowne patient your record you do not need to do anything as your registration with Kingsdowne Surgery will automatically transfer to Central Surgery. The migration of your patient records to Central Surgery will be managed securely by Central Surgery and NHS England.

From 1st July to 30th September you can choose to be seen at either site and from 1st October all services will operate out of Central Surgery.

Telephone numbers for appointments are:

  • Central Surgery Appointments 020 8399 6622
  • Kingsdowne Surgery appointments 020 8399 9032

You can ring either of these to make an appointment

Most of the staff and Nurses will be transferring with the merger and this change will not affect any of your current care. When you contact Central Surgery you may be asked to verify your current contact details to ensure that these are all up to date.

Central Surgery is a dynamic and friendly surgery with a team who is committed to providing excellent care and patient satisfaction. The practice provides a variety of clinics and services, and has received an overall rating of “good” by the Care Quality Commission. And finally, Dr Syed has asked us to share the following message with you:

“To all my patients past and present, it has been a pleasure serving you and the local community during the past 20 years as a GP. My father was also a GP at Kingsdowne Surgery since 1973 until he retired 14 years ago.

It is with regret that I am now taking early retirement due to physical ill health. The practice's patients will [soon] be looked after by a neighbouring practice (Central Surgery). I have known the doctors at this practice for many years, and I am confident that you will receive excellent care from them and their team. I wish you all the very best of health, happiness and prosperity.

Dr Junaid Syed
